Who We Are?
Responsible Innovation Digest is an independent publication dedicated to analyzing the most significant court decisions, regulations, and corporate strategies in artificial intelligence and biotechnology. We aim to bridge law, ethics, and industry practice, offering insights that matter both to academia and to global companies.
The Digest was founded by Yıldız Tuğçe Erduran, a lawyer and researcher specializing in bioethics, intellectual property, and technology law.

Background
Her LL.M. thesis, Patents on Living Organisms: A Study in Bioethics and Biomedical Law (published as a book in 2019), explored the legal and ethical boundaries of patenting genetic material, drawing on jurisprudence from the United States, the European Union, and Turkey. She has authored peer-reviewed articles on vaccine patenting and access to medicines during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the Bayh–Dole Act, TRIPS flexibilities, CRISPR gene-editing, reproductive rights, and the EU AI Act.
Beyond academia, Erduran has extensive professional experience in legal consultancy and mediation, as well as entrepreneurial work in AI-driven innovation. Her mission with Responsible Innovation Digest is to create a platform where rigorous legal and ethical analysis meets the strategic concerns of policymakers, academics, and industry leaders.
Alongside detailed Case Notes and Policy Briefs, Responsible Innovation Digest also features an Opinions section, which highlights commentary on high-end technologies and global developments. This ensures that the platform not only examines legal and ethical frameworks but also captures the pulse of innovation worldwide.
We believe that responsible innovation requires both critical reflection and practical guidance. Through our case notes, policy briefs, and expert commentary, Responsible Innovation Digest aspires to shape the debate on how disruptive technologies can serve human dignity, equitable access, and sustainable progress.
